Cora J. Whisnant, retired teacher and elementary school supervisor, died Aug. 1, 2000,in Williamsburg Community Hospital. She was born in Beaufort, NC, in 1906, the daughter of the late Arthur L. Johnston and Rosa L. Shavender.

Mrs. Whisnant, a graduate of East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina, was state president and a lifetime member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Foster L. Bundy of Clio, SC, Harry J. Midgette of Norfolk, and Manly D. Whisnant of Belhaven, NC. She is survived by her da...
