Virginia Whisenant

Virginia Whisenant, 84, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, in Muskogee, Okla. She was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Webbers Falls, Okla. She was a retired elementary school teacher and a member of Gore United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at Gore United Methodist Church with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Gore.

She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Virginia Shroff of Bixby, Okla., and Mary Landin of Tulsa; a son, John Whisenant Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Helen Moore and Barbara Warren, both of Gore; one grandchild; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stan, Daniel and Justin Whisenant, Mark Land, Joe Shroff, Van Fitzgerald, Brent Wilborn and Eric Landin.
