Helen W. Bost

CONOVER - Helen Whisnant Bost, 88, of Conover, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Sept. 19, 1920, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late James Carl Whisnant and Laura Mae Hoke Whisnant. Mrs. Bost was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton. She was an avid gardener and member of local garden clubs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Smith Bost. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Sinnett and her husband, John, of Raleigh and Cathy Norris and her husband, Wayne, of Salisbury; grandchildren, Laura Porter and her husband, David, of Charlotte, Susanne Leigh Butler and her husband, Josh, of Raleigh, Christopher Todd Sinnett of Charlotte, Benjamin Sinnett and his wife, Megan, of West Lebanon, N.H., Rebecca Shepherd and her husband, Brandon, of Sneads Ferry, Amanda Sharkey and her husband, Jason, of China Grove and Aubrie Cornelius and her husband, Andrew, of China Grove; and numerous great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, in Catawba Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Jane Mitcham officiating. Memorials may be made to Beth Eden Lutheran Church, 400 N.
