Frances Terry

Frances Whisnant Terry, 65, of Spainhour Road in Morganton, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Burke County, and was the daughter of the late Ray Whisnant and Minnie Miller Whisnant. Frances was a member of Zion Baptist Church and a former employee of Drexel-Heritage Furniture Company. She is survived by her husband, Garland Eugene Terry of the home; a son, Ricky Eugene Terry and his wife, Jo Ann; a daughter, Reba Terry Bolick and her husband, Andy; a brother, Harley Whisnant, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Curtis Coleman, Crystal Caldwell, Candace Terry, Stephen Thompson, Emanuel Hite and Mark Langston; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Reba Bolick, 1501 McGee St., Morganton.
