Hazel Gilstrap Whisnant
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Hazel Gilstrap Whisnant, 69, of True-love Road, Gainesville.
The Rev. Steve Whisnant and the Rev. Bo Whisnant will officiate. Burial will be in Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson County.
The family received friends Thursday night at the funeral home.
Mrs. Whisnant died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Whisnant was born in Towns County. She lived most of her life in both Morgan and Jackson counties. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Whisnant; daughter, Peggy Ann Looney; and grandchildren, Blake Looney and McKenzie Grindle.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Trish Whisnant and Ray and Angelia Whisnant, all of Gainesville, Teddy and Tina Whisnant, Lula, Louise Sargent, Blairsville, and Claudia Wallace, Commerce; daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and James Grindle and Jeannie and Tom Haywood, all of Gainesville, Wanda and Jerry Hart, Jefferson, W. and Vickie Whisnant, Maysville, and Marvin and Pat Whisnant and James Whisnant, all of Jefferson; brothers, Eugene Gilstrap, Madison, and Charles Gilstrap, Dahlonega; sister, Georgia Whisnant, Cleveland; son-in-law, Larry Looney, Nicholson; and large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
