Fannie Whisnant

Fannie Lee Whisnant, 84, of Commerce, died Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens.

She was born September 10, 1920 in Banks County and was the daughter of the late Mark and Mary Flowers Smith. Mrs. Whisnant was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Whisnant.

Survivors include five sons, Nathneil Whisnant, Commerce, Harold Whisnant, Arcade, Homer Whisnant, Commerce, U.V. Whisnant, Arcade, Buster Whisnant, Wadley; three daughters, Alice McDaniel, Statham, Mary Lou Norris, Nicholson, and Eunice Kittles, Ila; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 17, at Oconee Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Kesler and Bo Whisnant officiating. Burial was in Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson.
