Sophia Mangrum

ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Sophia "Dollie" Whisenant Mangrum, 85, of 1690 Firetower Road died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church Chapel, with Dr. William A. Fox Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Mangrum was a daughter of the late Ervin M. Whisenant and Sophia Lee Cowan Whisenant. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and sold produce at the Rock Hill Farmers Market. She was the widow of Dewitt Mangrum.

Surviving are three sons, John W. Mangrum of Clearwater, Fla., Bobby F. Mangrum of Rock Hill and Michael D. Mangrum of Chester; her daughter, Debi Mangrum Roberts of Rock Hill; two sisters, Frances W. Branham and Mary W. Ward, both of Rock Hill; her companion and caregiver, Bennie F. Starnes of the home: 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter, 1556 Forest Glen Drive.
