Gertrude White Whisnant Pearson

KINGS MOUNTAIN Mrs. Gertrude Gert White Pearson, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, while in the loving care of the staff of Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Jim Whisnant and Carrie Barrett Hamrick. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Dover Industries, both in Shelby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Atley Hamrick; her first husband, Oscar Red White; and her second husband, Tillman Pearson.

She is survived by a son, Regie White and wife, Cindy, of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Kathy W. Minnis and husband, Ron, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Dorothy Spake and husband, James, of Grover; five grandchildren, Nathan White, Stacy White, Michael White and wife, Tammy, Paul Lawing and Jason Lawing; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
