Frances Faye Benz Whisnant

Frances Faye Benz Whisnant, 81, of Argenta died 12:34 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 8, 2009) in Hawthorn Inn, Clinton, with her husband by her side. Private graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, with the Rev. Mike Debrun officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Argenta-Oreana Fire Department. Frances was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Monticello, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ellen Benz. She graduated from Argenta-Oreana High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. She married Edward Whisnant on Jan. 9, 1948. Surviving are her husband; children, Steven (Barbara) Whisnant, Linda (Bruce) White and Brenda (Bill) Zombro; one sister; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hawthorn Inn for their special care of Frances.
