Helen Whisnant Gossett, 72, of 925 8th St., died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at her residence.
A native of Bessemer City, N.C., she was the wife of Willis Gossett of the home and daughter of the late Joseph John Ray Whisnant and the late Rebecca Thorne Whisnant. She was retired from management, working at Oxford Industries for 37-1/2 years and at Hamrick's for 10 years.
Mrs. Gossett was a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and former choir member.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Denise Moss and husband, Charles, of Spartanburg; a brother, Fred Whisnant of Cherokee Falls; a sister, Mary Turner of Gaffney; a grandson, David Moss of Pickens; a granddaughter, Kimberly Westbrooks and husband, Todd, of Boiling Springs; and a great-grandson, Brett Westbrooks.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gossett was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ray Whisnant.
