Dolores C. Whisenhunt

HOUGHTON - 76, a former resident of Houghton, passed away Thursday evening, June 11, 2009, at Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home in Hubbell where she had been a resident patient for the past few years.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1933, in Detroit, a daughter of the late Benhardt and Julia (Lakatos) Johnson. As a child, she resided in various cities in the United States and since 1966, had made her home in Houghton County.

Mrs. Whisenhunt worked as a bookkeeper for Crown Cleaners in Houghton for many years.

She was united in marriage to George Whisenhunt.

Surviving are her son, George Whisenhunt, Jr. of Pelkie; and granddaughter, Eva Whisenhunt of San Angelo, Texas.

As requested, no visitation or sevice will be held for Dolores.

The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Chassell is assisting the family with the arrangements.
