Mrs. Mary Pirus

BLYTHE - Mrs. Mary L. Pirus, 68, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at her residence.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Augusta, with the Rev. Charlie K. DeLoach officiating. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Pirus, a native of Hephzibah, was a homemaker and a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and president of Women's Missionary Union.

Survivors include a son, Steven D. Pirus, Belleville, Wis.; her father, Hubert Whisnant, Blythe; two brothers, Lawrence Whisnant, Augusta, and Julius Whisnant, Blythe; six sisters, Trudy Bartlett, Dullahoma, Tenn., Sarah Roberts, Hephzibah, Carolyn Carter, Evans, Ruby Morris, Martinez, and Virginia Harris and Barbara Seago, both of Augusta; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 3965 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30901.

Poteet Funeral Home, Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.
