Ricky Whisnant

Ricky Lee Whisnant, 41, of Zion Road Morganton, died Thursday Feb. 16, 2006, at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center following a period of declining health.

Ricky was born on Feb. 2, 1965, in Burke County to William Eugene Whisnant and Norma Jean Burnette Whisnant. He was an operator at Carolina Mills and was a member of East Valdese Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Zinnie Whisnant and Norm and Ruby Burnette; and uncles, Johnny and Lee Whisnant.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his brothers, Tony Whisnant and wife, Helen and children, Stedman and Luke all of Hildebran; Jeff Whisnant and son, Devan, of Morganton; and twin brother, Rocky Whisnant and wife, Diane, and daughter, Angel, of Morganton; an aunt, Joyce Orders and uncles, Johnny Burnette and Mike Burnette; and grandmother, Pauline Whisnant Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. Officiating will be the Rev. Terry Jordan. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Morganton.
