Ricky Paul Whisenhunt - ELIZABETHTON
Ricky Paul Whisenhunt, was called home by his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 10, 2009.
He was a simple man with a big heart and a smile for everyone he met. Ricky Paul was a happy man and tried to make everyone around him smile. He loved animals especially his "special Boy Gunner." He was an avid sports fan, loved UT Football, Dale Earnhart Racing & his Chicago Bears. He had a special place in his heart for his "baby doll" Louann & his mama-san. He loved his daughter and was so proud to tell everyone she was a nurse and how good she was to all her older patients. He cared so much for his brothers and loved the times he could spend with woody "shooting their guns."
He was preceded in death by his parents Nova & Helen Whisenhunt, his grandparents, several uncles & aunts. Ricky Paul was a member of the East Side Free Will Baptist Church. He was an employee of Blue Links in Erwin.
He leaves behind his wife: Vicki, daughter: Audra. Brothers: Woody Whisenhunt and his wife Regina, Mike Whisenhunt. His Sister & Brother-In-Law: Vicki & Jim Bast. His Mother-in-law: Betty Chambers. A very special sister-in-law: Louann Chambers. His Brothers-in-laws:Johnny Chambers and his wife Vanessa and Terry Chambers and his wife Teresa.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Howard Messer and Rev. Justin Denton officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 12 Noon Thursday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Gail Campbell and Joel Crisp.
Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Thursday will be: Jeremy Whisenhunt, Steve Estep, Terry Bowling, Jim Perry, Ed Hinkle and Roger Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ronnie Hyder, Wes Treadway, Shane Tilson, Jim Keller, Dr. James Shipley and friends on the 2nd shift at Blue Links.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
