Carl Whisenant
Carl Whisenant, age 81, of Edwards Circle, Morgan City Community of Lacey's Spring died Friday, February 26, 2010 in Noland Hospital Anniston.
He was born on June 7, 1928, in Morgan County, to Joe Wheeler and Pearl Hornbuckle Whisenant. He served in the Army and was the owner/operator of Morgan City Truck Sales. He was a farmer, a NASCAR fan, and built and raced cars.
Surviors are his sons: Roy Michael Whisenant and Jack Edwards Puckett; daughters: Jimmie Ann Whisenant and Meredyth Puckett Wangerow; brothers and sisters-n-law: Billy Wayne and Johnnie Lou Moore, Bobby Moore, Burlon Moore, and Jerry and janice Moore; sisters and brothers-in-law: Hattie Lee and Clyde Hall, Hilda and Dan Lenox, Peggy and Hammond Thompson, Linda Fay and Bob Elliott, Iris Fowler, and Nancy and Buddy Johnston, grandchildren: Kelly, Robin, Tonya, Lamar, and Shannon; 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife: Inez Edwards Whisenant, granddaughter: Sheri Puckett, parents: Joe Whisenant and Pearl Moore; sisters: Edna Whisenant and Maggie Moore.
Funeral Service was 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City, Roland Cornwell, officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery, Highway 231 North, Lacey's Spring in Morgan City Community.
Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. also on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City.
