Carmen Whisenant
Mr. Carmen Gene Whisenant, 55, of Morganton died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Mr. Whisenant was born Aug. 25, 1950, in Burke County to the late Luther Powell and Rosalee Brown Carswell.
He is survived by daughters Susan Clark and her husband, Clinton, of Jonas Ridge and Lisa Greene and her husband, Chad, of Bakersville; son Christopher Powell of Hickory; brothers Lee Whisenant and his wife, Brenda, of Drexel, Steve Whisenant and his wife, Beluah, of Lenoir, Bruce Whisenant and his wife, Becky, of Hudson, Donald "Duck" Whisenant of Morganton and Teddy Woods; sister Diane Blanton of Morganton; grandchildren Corey, Megan and Amber Clark and Tequila, Alisha, Brianna, Cameron and Caleb Greene; Betty Clark, mother of his surviving daughters and 'husband-in-law' Roger Clark; and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pittman Gap Community Church in Jonas Ridge with the Rev. David Ray officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kirksey Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Kawana Cemetery in Harpers Creek.
