Betty Jackson (1932 - 2009)

Betty Jackson, 76, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in Granbury.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Norman officiating. Private burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Highway 377 East, Granbury.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Habitat for Humanity of Hood County, Box 1866, Granbury, Texas 76048.

Betty was born June 1, 1932, in Stephenville to J.F. and Denver Whisenant. She received her BBA and master of education from Texas Tech. Her teaching career included assignments in Big Spring, Roswell, N.M., and Fort Worth.

After Betty married Bill Jackson, they moved to Granbury in 1993. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of the Granbury Wednesday Club.

Survivors: Husband, Bill Jackson of Granbury; daughter, Kay Holloway and husband, Gary, of Canyon; grandchildren, Jason Holloway, Kory Holloway and wife, Krista, and Heather Holloway; Bill's family; and a host of friends who loved her greatly.
