Grady Whisonant
CHARLOTTE -- Mr. Grady Cole Whisonant, 70, of 333 Hawthorne Lane, formerly of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Hopewell Presbyterian Church PCA, with Dr. Michael D. Bolus officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Indian Land, Mr. Whisonant was a son of the late Stephen L. Whisonant and the late Esther Merrill Whisonant. He retired with 26 years of service from Springs Industries' White Plant in Fort Mill, and he was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Whisonant formerly lived at 2019 Celanese Road in Rock Hill. He died at Elizabeth Place, a nursing facility in Charlotte.
Surviving are his daughters, Teresa Roper of Catawba, and Lynn Whisonant and Cathy Whisonant, both of Fort Mill; a stepson, Buddy Laney of Fort Mill; two sisters, Sue Melton of Fort Mill and Sybil Lacy of Sevierville, Tenn.; and his grandchild.
