Elmer Whisenhunt

Elmer W. Whisenhunt, age 82, a resident of Foreman, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at his home.

He was born Sept. 29, 1923 in Arkinda to William Aaron and Polly Ann Tipton Whisenhunt, was retired from the U.S. Army and Little River County, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Vietnam, and Korea, a POW during World War II and received the Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Iona Whisenhunt on Sept. 22, 2000 and 11 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by one son, Steven Dale Whisenhunt of Jesup, Ga.; three daughters, Janet Kay McGoff of Frisco, Texas, Kathy Lynn Hankins of De Queen, and Melissa Nell Nunn of Foreman; one brother, Melvin Whisenhunt of Foreman; six grandchildren; two great-grand-children and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2 in the Crossroads Baptist Church with Jimmy Roden officiating. Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery.
