Arthur Chester WHISENHUNT

Dallas: Arthur C (Whizz) Whisenhunt in the Fair Park Station, a carrier in the Dallas post office since 1921, died in the Veterans Hospital in Lisbon on July 17, 1946.
Services are scheduled for Saturday July 19, in the parlors of Lamar-Smith funeral home in Oak Cliff, with the Rev. Cecil Funk, a fellow letter carrier, and Rev. Presley C. Hand of the East Dallas Baptist Church. Burial in the Veterans'Garden of Laurel Land Memorial Park at Dallas.
Mr. Whisenhunt was born May 27, 1894, to Joseph L Whisenhunt and Leona E (Crotts) Whisenhunt, in Star City, Lincoln County Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph L Whisenhunt, two brothers Joseph E and Fred W. Whisenhunt, three sisters Ollie Maye, Martha E. and Lula E. Whisenhunt.
He is survived by two brothers, John W. and James (Jim) Whisenhunt of Grand Saline: his mother, Mrs. Leona E. (Crotts) Whisenhunt of Silver Lake; his wife, Mirriam O Whisenhunt; a daughter, and two sisters, Mary E. Carpenter of Silver Lake and Mrs. Bessie Oates of Denver Colo.
Mr. Whisenhunt was a member of the American Legion Post No. 275 Oak Cliff and the Odd Fellows. He was a Veteran of the first World War and the Flag Service will performed at the grave by his American Legion buddies.
Pallbeareers are Joe Richardson, L.L. Bullard, W.W. Turner, all retired letter carriers, and J.T. Bolton, Oscar Gleiser and Lyle Graham, Present letter carriers.
