Nellie Wright, 1925 - 2006
Nellie Wright, 81, of the Glover Community, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1925 in Hatfield, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank and Jewel Evans Whisenhunt. She married Andy Wright in Hatfield, Arkansas on September 24, 1940.
Nellie was an accomplished homemaker. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Nellie was of the Baptist Faith and was baptized at the Wright City First Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and was a lifetime resident of this area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Cliff Whisenhunt; a sister, Thelma Stinnett; and grandsons, Jamie Paul Wright, and Michael Paul Wright.
Nellie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Andy Wright of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Olen and Lucille Wright of Honobia, Earl and Sandra Wright of Wright City, Paul and Judy Wright of the Mt. Herman Community, James and Tabitha Wright of Glover, Frankie and Pam Wright of Paulina, Oregon, and Randall and Charla Wright of Honobia; daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Bill Packwood of the Holly Creek Community, Gertie and George Worsham of Broken Bow, and Helen and Greg Spivey of Oklahoma City; brother, Andrew Whisenhunt of Dayville, Oregon; sisters, Naomi Lynn Oster of Albany, Oregon, Gertrude Morgan of Turner, Oregon, Bertha Handcock of Salem, Oregon, and Elfa Mae Harris of Loins, Oregon; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Services will be on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lukfata Baptist Church with Bro. Don Batchelor and Bro. Neil Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Watson Memorial Cemetery in the Oak Hill Community. (McCurtain County Oklahoma LEG)
