Ella Mae Maynor Whistenant

Death: Oct. 18, 2009, Chickamauga, Walker Co., GA

CHICKAMAUGA, GA — Ella Mae Maynor Whistenant, 84, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, at her home.

She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. She retired from the textile industry in 1982 and enjoyed her days talking on the phone and helping her neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earnest Whistenant; parents, Poppa and Gracie Maynor; son, Jerry Whistenant; three brothers; and three sisters.

Ella is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Merle Whistenant, of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Shana Baker and Betsy Whistenant; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Terry Burns officiating.
