A.D. Whisenant

Services for A. D. Whisenant, 74, of Huntington, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Rev. Louie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mr. Whisenant was born January 16, 1929, in Redland, Angelina County, Texas, and he died Saturday, November 8, 2003, in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Whisenant was a retired machinist for Unit Rig of Lufkin. He had resided in Huntington for the past 3 years, and previously resided in Lufkin for 30 years. He was of the Baptist Faith, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Whisenant of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, A.D., Jr., and Linda Whisenant of Central, Bobby and Penny Whisenant of Etoile; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Chet Cole of Hudson; daughter, Sherion Whisenant of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton and Barbara Whisenant of Etoile, Adam Dale and Ruby Whisenant of Lufkin; nine grandchildren, Whitney, Isabel, Kennan, Priscilla, Tabatha, Sara, Cody, Mitchell and Danny; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Zach; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Whisenant was preceded in death by his parents, Ada Dale (Davison) and Lawrence William Whisenant; sister, Faye Brookshire; and brother, Richard Whisenant.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Arriola, Bryant Jones, Allen Hill, Kevin Cromeens, Andy Robertson, Aric Hancock, Toby Spinks and Bryan Holley.
