Grace Mantooth Whisenhunt
WHISENHUNT, MRS. GRACE MANTOOTH Mrs. Grace Mantooth Whisenhunt, born April 23, 1920 in, Bessemer, Alabama, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009. She was a loving full time Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker, sewing and cooking for her family and friends. She was a Christian member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a leader in PTA and the community. She is predeceased by her husband, Bernie George Whisenhunt Sr.; parents, Ola Blackstock Mantooth and James Oliver Mantooth; along with five of her siblings, Margurite Snider, J.T. (Loraine) Mantooth, Fred Mantooth, and Thomas Mantooth. She is survived by daughters, Nina W. Willis, Rynthia W. Vines, Janice W. Fields, Debby W. (Emmett) Godfrey, Julie W. Bradley (Steve); sons B. George Whisenhunt Jr. (Carolyn), James I. Whisenhunt (Gloria), and T. Jack Whisenhunt (Debbie). She is survived by grandchildren: Gina H. Everett, Jeff Harris (Beth), Jill H. Prater and Rusty Prater, Kelly V. McFarland (Corky), Shelly V. Hornstein (Bruce), Todd Whisenhunt (Amanda), Tab Whisenhunt (Stephanie), Ted Whisenhunt (Eloise), Paige W. Petersen (Don), Parrish W. Doss (Eric), Hunt Fields, Hunter Godfrey (Cinda), Dylan Whisenhunt, Jessica Whisenhunt, Brad Bradley (Jennifer), Mary Grace Bradley, Blake Whisenhunt (Laura), Jordan Whisenhunt, Holley Whisenhunt; great- grandchildren: Logan Tissier, Landon Tissier, Lauryn Hornstein, Ethan Hornstein, Gates Godfrey, Arden Godfrey, Ivy White, Laney Doss, Rhett Petersen, Devan Petersen, Julia Petersen, Sarah Michael Whisenhunt, Bennett Whisenhunt, Lane Whisenhunt, Will Whisenhunt, Caroline Whisenhunt, John Whisenhunt, Carson Bradley, Selah Bradley, Bethany Studdard, Lizbeth Studdard, and Jacob Studdard; and great-great-grandchild, Ansleigh White. She is also survived by sister, Lula M. Mitchem; and special in-laws, Ted Whisenhunt, Nona (Don) Cash, Ulma Wilhite, Jackie Cole, Lore Whisenhunt, Bobby Mantooth, Edwin Snider. Thanks to special caretakers, Sheryl Young, Rennie Smith, Romana Robinson, Darlene McGraw, Stephanie Burts, and Nancy Jackson. Appreciation to Alacare Homecare and Hospice. Visitation will be held at Brown Service Chapel, Bessemer, on Wednesday, March 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Brown Service Chapel on Thursday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Canaan Baptist Church, Morgan Road with Reverends Don English and Ray Edwards officiating.
