Reta V. Adams Whisenant

Reta V. Whisenant, 84, a homemaker, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin.

She was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Beaver County, Okla., to Roy and Emma Boyer Adams.

On July 21, 1945, she married John Whisenant in Denver. He died April 5, 1992. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jean, Gilbert and Herschel Adams; and a sister, Ruby Newberry.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeanie Rose of Dodge City, Jackie Whisenant of Ensign, and Cathy Clodfelter of Johnson City; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City
