Emmett R. Whisenant

ATTALLA - Emmett Ray Whisenant, 88, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Duck Springs Cemetery with the Rev. James Jordan officiating. Morgan Funeral Chapel will be in charge.

Mr. Whisenant was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was retired from Marshall Space Flight Center and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Stanford Whisenant.
Survivors include two sons, James Ray Whisenant of Attalla and Bill Whisenant of Huntsville; one brother, Irby Whisenant of Attalla; three sisters, Belle Norton of Southside, Bonnie Guest of Attalla and Betty Jean Merritt of Chicago; and two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
Visitation was to be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home
