Funeral for Jessie Lee Whisenant, 71, of Decatur will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenard Devaney officiating.

Burial will be in Raper Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Whisenant died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1930, to Willie Whisenant and Florence Whisenant in Lawrence County. He was a retired steelworker.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Whisenant; two sons, Lanny Whisenant and Barry Whisenant, both of Decatur; four brothers, Glenn Whisenant of Decatur, Talmadge Whisenant of Hamilton, and Hoyt Whisenant and Herman Whisenant, both of Moulton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Nephews will be pallbearers.
