Dorothy Whisnant

HOPKINS - Dorothy Cooper Whisnant, 68, widow of Frank L. Whisnant, died Aug. 16, 1999.

Born in Fairfield County, she was a daughter of the late Carl E. and Lucy Clayton Cooper. She was a retired security officer with Providence Hospital. She was first married to the late Furman Austin Boney.

Survivors include her children, Furman Austin Boney Jr. of Gilbert, Carl Jess Boney of Tampa, Fla., James Marion Boney of Hopkins, Lucy B. Crouch of Lexington, Talley B. Boney of Cayce and Rose Marie Chavious and Timothy Wayne Boney, both of West Columbia; four sisters, Betty Cooper Branham and Mary Cooper Branham, both of Ridgeway, Judy Cooper Pereira of Lexingtonand Laura Lucille Brown of Cayce; two brothers, James Ezell Cooper of Saluda and Billy Franklin Cooper of Ridgeway; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
