Olin R. Whisenant

WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services for Olin Riley Whisenant, 74, will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Westside Holiness Church with burial at Southland Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mr. Whisenant, husband of the late Mary Powell Whisenant, died Friday, March 6, 2009. Born in Richland County, he was a son of Theodore Whisenant and Diedre Rast Whisenant. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a former employee of the City of Columbia and Estes Trucking Line. He was a member of Westside Holiness Church and Lower Richland Masonic Lodge. He loved country music, sports, and was an avid Gamecock fan.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Juanita and Mike Trigiani of Lexington, Ricky and Cindy Whisenant of Lexington, Sharon and Jerico Aquino of Covina, Calif. and Wayne and Kim Whisenant of West Columbia; brothers, Troy Whisenant, Ray Whisenant and Boyce Whisenant; sisters, Dorothy Williams and Ruth Hammonds; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Aubrey Whisenant and J.W. Whisenant and a sister, Sherrie Suggs.
