ROBERT "WHIZ" WHISENAND Newburgh, N.Y. Robert "Whiz" Whisenand of Newburgh, a retired glazier and truck driver, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at home. He was 69. The son of the late Andrew and Mary Elsie Noah Whisenand, he was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Harding, Mo. Mr. Whisenand was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served from 1951 to 1957. He was an ardent race fan and retired driver for the Middletown and tri-state area tracks. Survivors include his good friends, John and Beverly Sanders; one brother, Andrew Whisenand of St. Joseph, Mo.; one sister, Mae Good of St. Joseph, Mo.; and two grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a Service of Remembrance from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Road, Newburgh. Cremation will take place in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, kindly send memorial contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the charity of one's choice.
