Malinda Gay McDaniel Whisnant, 53, of 4524 Hendrix Drive died Friday May 22, 1998.

A native of Clarke County. Mrs. Whisenant was a daughter of Gennell Bridges McDaniel Goodrum of Athens and the late William R. "Mac" McDaniel Sr. She had lived in the Forest Park area for the past three years. having moved from Athens. Mrs. Whisenant was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Conley. While living in Athens she worked for Athens-Clarke County vehicle maintenance and was a member of Edwards Chapel.

Funeral services wil1 be at 3 p.m. today at Edwards Chapel with the Revs. Jeff Burnett and Jack Segars officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

In addition to her mother. survivors include her husband, Edwin whisenant; a stepdaughter. Christal Gale Whisenant McDaniel, Danielsville; a stepson, Edwin Malcolm Whisenant, Ila; her stepfather, James Goodrum, Athens; three sisters, Darinda M. Waters, Watkinsville, and Sandra M. Gregory and Deborah M. Shelnutt, both of Athens; a brother, William R. McDaniel Jr., Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charles S. Gregory, William Jason Brown, E. Mac Whisenant, William R. McDaniel III, D. Stephen Taylor III and Craig E. McDaniel.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, is in charge of arrangements.
