Jerry Whisenhunt

Jerry James Whisenhunt, 61, Oklahoma City, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Strode Chapel. Rev. Aaron Cole will officiate. Interment will be at the Fairlawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Whisenhunt was born Nov. 5. 1939, in Wewoka to Hughie Elbur and Hallie Ivy (Steen) Whisenhunt. He graduated fiom New Lima High School in 1957. At the age of 20, he went to work for the Oklahoma State Highway Department He worked his way up to surveyor and was working as such when he moved to Stillwater in 1972. Whisenhunt retired in 1996 with 30 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one infant in sister.

Whisenhunt is survived by two brothers, Hughie Whisenhunt and wife Dolores, Oklahoma City; Gerald Wayne Whisenhunt and wife Gala, Cedar Hill, Texas; Naomi Nall, Oklahoma City, and many numerous nieces and nephews.
