Tony Whisenhunt

Tony Whisenhunt, age 43, of Groesbeck died Thursday, December 6, 2001.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, at Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Faulkenberry Cemetery.

Mr. Whisenhunt was born December 3, 1958 in Burney, California to Donald and Betty (Wright) Whisenhunt. Mr. Whisenhunt was an auto mechanic before becoming disabled.

Mr. Whisenhunt is survived by his wife, Kynda Whisenhunt of Groesbeck; his mother, Betty Craig of Willis, Texas; three sons, Michael Christopher Wimberly, Jeffery L. Wimberly, Jr., Clay Wimberly and wife Staci all of Groesbeck; one daughter, Dusty Wimberly of Fairfield; five grandchildren, Toryee, Dakota, Dasie, Seth, Taylor; two very special adopted grandchildren, Chance and Ashley Lowenthal; two brothers, Joe D. Whisenhunt of Houston, Bruce Whisenhunt of Conroe; one sister Michelle Miller of Jewett.

Tony had a great love of the outdoors. He spent many days on the river and in the woods with his grandsons. Tony leaves behind a legacy of love for his family and was greatly loved in return. One of his desires was to be the best "Poppy" any child ever had and he achieved that goal and beyond. He was "Poppy" not only to his own grandchildren but neighborhood children as well.

Mr. Whisenhunt is preceded in death by his father Donald Whisenhunt.
