Edith Whisenant Love
MEBANE, N.C. - Edith Whisenant Love, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. She was a native of Durham and the wife of the late James Marshall Love.
Edith retired from Copland Fabrics and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint in her spare time. Edith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Jerry Langford of Memphis, Tennessee, Patti and Michael Dorsett of Gibsonville; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Jane Love of Mebane and James H. "Buddy" Love of Canoga Park, California; grandchildren, Branden Langford, Graham Langford, Olivia Langford, Andrew Dorsett, Katelyn Dorsett and Lindsey Love; great-grandchildren, Chays and Taylor Langford; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Harold Martin of Burlington; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Mary Whisenant of Kernersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Barry Whisenant; parents, Floyd Lee and Myrtle Caroline Lewis Whisenant; sisters, Lorene Johnson, Geraldine Thompson and Gracie Whisenant; brother, Melvin Whisenant.
The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tempe Fussell. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home of David Love, 2708 Lynndale Court in Mebane, N.C.
