Sandra Rigamonti Whisenhunt

SANDRA RIGAMONTI WHISENHUNT, 65, was born in Victoria, Texas on 20 October 1943. She was raised in San Antonio and moved to Houston after graduating to work for NASA at Johnson Space Center. She was the original JSC director's secretary and worked and knew all of the original Apollo astronauts. She ended her brief Government career to raise a family. She is survived by her husband, Arlie DeWayne Whisenhunt; her two children, Stephen Cook and Carrie Shapiro along with her husband's children, DeWayne Whisenhunt and Michelle Fellenbaum, whom she considered her own. The love of her life was her grandchildren, Bryson, Zachery and Austin Trussel, Matthew and Stephanie Cook, Katelyn Shapiro, and Quest Whisenhunt. Her greatest joy was shopping for the grandkids. She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby and Leon Rigamonti and one sister, Iris Chester and a Special Aunt Mrs. Margaret Quesinberry. Her mother and father, Eleanor and Robert Rigamonti preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd.
