Bobbie Joyce Whisenhunt
Bobbie Joyce Whisenhunt, 65, of Nederland, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Friday, August 28, 2009 at Memory Gardens cemetery in Nederland with Rev. Dr. L.A. Richardson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Broussard's in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the mortuary. Mrs. Whisenhunt was a native of Jackson, Tennessee and lived in the Nederland area for 60 years. She was a retired dispatcher for Transitmix and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cooking was what brought her family home; they came for the food and stayed for the love. Mrs. Whisenhunt is survived by her husband, Harmon Whisenhunt of Nederland; daughter, Deanna Whisenhunt of Port Neches; sons, Tommy Whisenhunt and wife Stephany of Nederland and Jon Whisenhunt of Vidor; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.V. and Johnnie Mae Springfield and her sister Peggy Jean Foux.
