Kenneth Ray Whisenant

Kenneth Ray Whisenant, 55, of Lufkin, was born November 26, 1954 in Angelina County, Texas. He passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in a local hospital. Kenneth was a saw hand and operator for Tree's Inc., He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting and fishing. He was kind-hearted, funny, and never met a stranger. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Tasha Whisenant of Vidor; mother, Bonnie Whisenant of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Linda Faye Whisenant of Lufkin; sister, Linda Dunn of Pollok; special friend, Sharon Kay Minshew of Lufkin; grandchildren, Julius, Heather and Samantha; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Julius Whisenant. Pallbearers will be Jerry Whisenant, Michael Dunn, David Lynn Dunn, Donald Whisenant, Paul Smith and Cody Parrish. Services for Kenneth will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bobby Joe Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
