Angie M. Whisenant

Mrs. Angie M. Whisenant, age 90, Union Hill Road, Morgan City, was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Morgan County to Wiley Helms and Ella Black Helms. She died Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, 2005, in Parkway Medical Center in Decatur. She was married to the late Wilburn G. Whisenant.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Union Grove Holiness Church, with burial to follow in Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan County. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. She will also lie in state at the church Friday from 1-2 p.m.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin J. and Evonne Whisenant, of Wrightsville, Ga., Marvin and Doris Whisenant, of Florence, and Troy W. and Betty Whisenant, of Sheffield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Gene Rainer, of Morgan City, Wilda and Phil Hendrix, of Decatur; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Odell Byrd, of Kentucky; brother-in-law, Calvis Garret, of Bremen, Ala.; special friend, Emma Gaiter, of Decatur; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
