Shirley Ruth Whisenant

Shirley Ruth Whisenant, 69, passed away Feb. 8, 2010.

She was born Aug. 20, 1940 in Livingston to Lynn and Pauline Turner. She married J. L. Whisenant on May 17, 1963; they were married for 46 years.

Shirley is survived by her husband J. L. Whisenant, children Sherry Cavanaugh of Pearl, Miss., Susan Whisenant of Lockhart and Glen Whisenant of Lockhart, grandchildren Mathew Van Sant of Las Vegas, Nev., Jacob Whisenant of Lockhart, Morgan Roach of Georgetown and Pauline Roach of Lockhart, great-grandchild Vaughn Van Sant of Las Vegas, Nev. and sister Wilma Marckley of Lubbock.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Pauline Turner and brother Charles Turner.

Shirley will be remembered for her caring heart.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at McCurdy Funeral Home. Services are at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Hahn officiating. Interment in Lockhart Municipal Burial Park.
