Mr. Larry Eugene Whisnant Lenoir – Mr. Larry Eugene Whisnant, 60, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro on Sataurday, January 2, 2010 following an extended illness. Mr. Whisnant, was the son of the late Walter Lee Whisnant and Florence Scott Whisnant, He was a self-employed painter. He loved his family and watching the grandbabies play. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, a son, Larry Eugene Whisnant, Jr. one granddaughter Megan Thomas and one brother Daniel Whisnant. He is survived by his wife, Janice Frazier Whisnant of the home, and their children, Garry Whisnant and Courtney Whisnant both of the home, George Thomas and Michael Martin of Lenoir, Kenneth Thomas of Georgia, William Martin of Gray, Tenn and Mark Martin and Sarah Whisnant both of Kingsport, Tenn. He is also survived by eleven a grandchildren, two brothers; Walt Whisnant of Granite Falls, and Dale Whisnant of Virginia. Two sisters; Brenda Piercy of Lenoir and Linda McLean of Cajah Mtn. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Mackie-High Funeral Home, Granite Falls, NC. With a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00pm in the Chapel at Mackie-High Burial will be private. At the request of the family” No Flowers” Please.
