Paula Norman (Whisenhunt) (1942 - 2009)

ODESSA Paula Whisenhunt Norman passed away Friday, September 4, 2009, at Hospice House in Odessa.

She was born on June 2, 1942, in Mobile, Ala., to Louis and Opal Whisenhunt. She graduated from Ector High School, Shannon Nursing and also from Odessa College. She married Larry Norman on May 9, 1987.

Paula was a nurse for over 40 years, retiring in 2004, as a clinic supervisor for the Texas Tech WIC Clinic in Odessa.

She loved her family, her job, the outdoor life and her dogs. Paula and Larry spent lots of time fishing at their lake cabin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, LaQuita; and brother, Dwight.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Norman of Odessa; son, Shawn Manahan and wife, Diane of Kerrville; daughters, Deena Story of Odessa, Lezlie Veach and husband, Charlie of Odessa and Kellie Von Rosenberg and husband, Jeff of Haltom City; her sister, Yvonne Dunlap and husband, Jerry of Georgetown; brother Gary Whisenhunt and wife, Sandie of Odessa; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, conducted at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating.

The family requests memorials to Hospice House or Door of Hope Mission.
