Charles Marion Whisenant Jr.

Charles Marion Whisenant Jr., 81, of 9 Bynam St., died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005.

Born in Danville, Va., Mr. Whisenant was the widower of Lucille Lollis Whisenant and the son of the late Charles Marion Sr. and Martha Stone Whisenant. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from the Beattie Textile Plant. He was a member of Dunean Baptist Church.

Mr. Whisenant is survived by his daughter, Gloria Robertson of Williamston; his son, Charles Ronald Whisenant of Greenville; three sisters, Audrey Hawkins, Gaynelle Cox, and Aileen Whitmire, all of Greenville; two grandchildren, Liza Robertson and Jennifer Barnett; and one great-grandchild, Conner Barnett. He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 12, 2005, at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
