Hal Roger Whisnant
Hal Roger Whisnant, 55, of Pioneer, passed away August 27, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Born in Scott County, June 2, 1949, he was the son of Neva Jeffers Whisnant and the late Millard Whisnant. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Vaughn, and Wayne Whisnant.
He is survived by his wife, Cassie Crabtree Whisnant; two daughters: Crystal Byrd and husband, Robbie, and Tina King; three grandchildren, one brother, Doug Whisnant; one sister, Vivian Ashenuga and husband, Tony; brothers-in-law: L.B. Crabtree and wife, Ruth, Charles Crabtree and wife, Jerry, and J.H. Crabtree and wife, Judy; sisters-in-law: Mabel Phillips, Margaret Honeycutt, Opal Whisnant, Edith Jeffers, Daisy Lloyd and husband, Billy Don, and Ollie Chambers and husband, Tony; special aunts, Aree Moffett and Maggie Jeffers; special friends, Brian West and Ray Beard; a host of nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was to have been conducted September 1, at Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Smithers and Rev. Bobby Massengale officiating. Music was to have been provided by the Singing Hambys. Internment was to have followed in Botts Cemetery. Jones & Son Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
