David Culler Whisenant

WHISENANT, DAVID CUYLER, age 57, of Louisville, AL, passed away on April 27, 2005. He was a member of Doctrinal Studies Church of Birmingham. He taught Biblical Theology and Greek, at Southeastern Bible College and Briarwood Seminary. He graduated from Samford University and New Orleans Baptist Seminary in Louisiana, receiving a Masters in Greek and in Biblical Theology. He was the first poster child in 1955 for the Birmingham Telethon for United Cerebral Palsy. He lived a life dedicated to Jesus through the translation of his Scriptures. His Life was a shining example of personal faith in the Lord and love for mankind. He touched many with his sweet smile and pleasant spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, Jackson C. Whisenant. Survivors include mother, Josie C. Whisenant; sisters, Wanda (Don) Thrasher of Louisville, AL and Judy (Ralph) Duke of Pinson, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Ajril 30, 2005 at 2:00 pm. at Jefferson Memorial Trussville Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, Ron Adama officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the people at New Beacon Hospice in Birmingham and his extended church family for their prayers, love and compassion during this difficult time.
