Shirley Whisenant

Shirley Whisenant, a homemaker, of Lacey's Spring passed away Sunday. She was 50. She is survived by her husband Jerry Whisenant of Lacey's Spring; mother, Margiedean Honeycutt of Southside; daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Bradley Oden of Lacey's Spring; stepdaughter, Wendy R. Townsend and husband, Jeff; stepson, Wade Whisenant and wife, Chris, all of Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Mary L. and Melvin Snow of Southside; one grandchild; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her son, Derek Nan Whisenant, and father, Horace Pinkney Honeycutt. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church with Ken Galyean officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Union Grove at the private family cemetery. Arab Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
