Marilyn Whisenhunt

CARBONDALE - Marilyn Ruth Whisenhunt, 76, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, with her family at her side.

She was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Mount Vernon. She had been living in the Austin, Texas, area for the last few years, but lived most of her life in Carbondale.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Amy Whisenhunt; grandchildren, Heather and Derek Whisenhunt, all of Leander, Texas; and one brother, Arch Etheridge and his wife, Dini, of St. Louis.

Marilyn will be missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Whisenhunt; her husband, James Whisenhunt; and her parents, Arch and Ruth Etheridge.

An interment service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, in Crain Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Old Illinois 13 between Carbondale and Murphysboro.
