Mrs. Betty Wright
1934 - 2009

BOSTIC - Mrs. Betty Whisnant Wright, 74, of 127 Holly Court, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.

A native of Rutherford County, Betty was born Aug. 29, 1934, a daughter of the late Robert Rush and Edna Hamrick Whisnant. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was the former treasurer, member of the W.M.U., member of the Gideon auxiliary and was a Hospice volunteer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harol Wright; and a brother, John David Whisnant.

Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Crystal Wright of Shelby and Phil and Pam Wright of Norfork, Va.; one daughter, Renee Gillikin; and nine grandchildren, Nicholas Wright, Adam Wright, Katie Wright, Michael Wright, Hannah Wright, Alex Gillikin, Catherine Gillikin, Bethany Gillikin and Dawson Gillikin.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 6 to 8 p.m., at McKinney-Landreth FuneralHome.
Funeral: Sunday, April 19, 2 p.m., Bethel Baptist Church
