Christine Whisenant

Chris Whisenant was born Christine Lorraine Moses on March 12, 1942 in Wardell, MI to the late Leroy W. Moses and Earline Hights-Moses. Chris was raised in Herlong, CA, Reno, NV, and Sacramento, CA. As a military wife she lived all over the world, finally settling in Las Vegas, NV, where she lost a hard-fought battle with cancer on May 22, 2010. She was a member of Mountaintop Faith Ministries in Las Vegas.

Chris graduated from the Community College of Aurora with an Associate's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant management. She worked at different times as a travel agent, a private duty nurse, and in the hotel industry, but her greatest accomplishment was that of mother, raising four beautiful and well-rounded children. Chris was loved by all who knew her.

Chris was preceded in death by her mother Earline Hights, father Leroy Washington Moses (May 11, 2010), stepmother Geneva Mae Moses (May 9, 2010), brothers Leroy Curtis Moses, II, Reverend William Hights, Travis Dean Moses (April 24, 2010), niece, Vanessa Moses (February 4, 2010, and sister, Bettye Robertson.
She is survived by her children, Tony (Hayley) Whisenant, Michael Whisenant, Tim Engles, Stacia Whisenant, and Cheryl (Thad) Fogle, grandchildren Toni, Kristy, Shane, Taylor, and Cierra, brother, Phillip Moses, sisters Virginia Hights, Florine Reid, Mavis Williams, Theresa Grant, Linda Dolten and Marian Moses, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial services to celebrate Chris' life will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 2:00 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 1265 Montello St., Reno NV.
