Glennis Whisenant Spencer
LAMESA - Services for Glennis Whisenant Spencer, 74, of Lamesa will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stacy Conner officiating.
Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spencer died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Lamesa. She married Charles Frank Spencer on Dec. 23, 1946, in Lamesa. He died Sept. 13, 1993.
Mrs. Spencer and her husband lived in Lamesa, Lake Thomas, Bronco, and Plains for 28 years before retiring to Lake Brownwood. Glennis moved back to Lamesa in 1994 after her husband's death in 1993. She worked at the County Clerk's office in Yoakum County and was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. She had been a member of Northside Baptist Church for 11 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Lena Sue Whisenant, and a brother, Floyd Whisenant.
Survivors include a son, Bill Spencer and wife Wanda of Lamesa; a daughter, Sue Claunch and husband Jim Pat of Bula, Texas; a brother, Bill Whisenant and wife Freda of Lamesa; a sister, Mickie Roper and husband Norman of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Corie Langford of Amarillo, Sterling Spencer of Granbury, and Jacen Claunch of Bula; and three great-grandchildren, Curtis Johnson of Amarillo, and Cheyenne Spencer and Stephanie Spencer, both of Granbury.
The family suggests memorials to Northside Baptist, First Baptist, or your favorite charity.
