Leona Craver Whisehunt-Pollard

WHISENHUNT-POLLARD Mrs. Leona Craver Whisenhunt-Pollard died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Whisenhunt-Pollard was born in Winston-Salem on April 13, 1923, to Sam and Cora Martin Craver. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Oscar Whisenhunt in 1978 and Ray Pollard in 2007; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Whisenhunt, in 2007; and a son, Pete Whisenhunt, in 1998. Surviving are a son, Robert Whisenhunt of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Danny, Keithe, Tammy and Pamela Whisenhunt and Myssy Clemons; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a stepdaughter, Kathy Ellington; and a stepson, Roy Pollard. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at Salem Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jun 12, 2008, at the funeral home.
